Tropical disturbance heading toward the Lesser Antilles

Delta is now gone, and even though we’re almost done with hurricane season, hurricane season is not done with us!

In the tropics today, we’re watching a pesky tropical wave located in the central tropical Atlantic that continues to fire clusters of showers and thunderstorms.

The disturbance will slowly move westward toward the Lesser Antilles over the next several days, and conditions will be favorable for some slight development.

By late week, higher wind shear should tear the disturbance apart. Right now, the National Hurricane Center is giving it a 20% chance of development.

LOCAL FORECAST

As for your Sunday, weather overall looks good across SW Florida, with a dry start and scattered showers and a few thunderstorms in the afternoon. Otherwise, expect a mix of sun and clouds, with highs in the upper 80s to around 90!
