As we near the end of what’s been a long and destructive hurricane season, we’re watching one area of interest in the Atlantic Basin.

The only area with any chance of development is in the far eastern Atlantic, where a non-tropical area of low pressure could gain subtropical characteristics over the next few days as it meanders southward near the Canary Islands. By the middle of week, the window for development will close, as conditions become unfavorable.

The National Hurricane Center gives this feature a medium 40% chance of development.
