One Southwest Florida paramedic is using music to support the Bucs.

While it may seem like life is all fun for Lorenzo Hogans II, the past year has been anything but.

COVID-19 has taken its toll on Hogans, not only professionally, but also personally. Because of this Hogans hopes Super Bowl Sunday, between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Kansas City Chiefs, will bring him the joy he is missing.

Hogans always reps the Bucs win or lose, in the stands and especially on the road, ignoring the pleas of his friends. The Bucs have given Hogans hope and inspiration. So much so, that before the NFL season began, Hogans made a music video to show his love for the Bucs, even predicting a championship.

“It’s been such a morale booster to be able to cheer your team and kind of decompress from the day to day operations of work,” Hogans said.

His friends, also Bucs fans, try to keep Hogans to stay home during games, “because it seems every time I went to a game we were losing,” Hogans said.

Hogans is a paramedic with Lee County EMS during a pandemic. Work has been tough this year.

“It’s expecting the unexpected and just being ready,” he said.

No matter what the call may be – COVID or not- Hogans lives to serve others.

“I want to show up when you’re in your darkest hour,” Hogans said. “I want to show up when you’re having your worst day ever and be that light of hope.”

For Hogans, Super Bowl 55 is more than just a game during these times. Hogans will be in Tampa for the Super Bowl even though he doesn’t have a ticket. He said he plans to be outside just to take it all in.
