Left to right: Henry Whetsell, Darrell Williams and Christopher Hill This weekly WINK News segment features fugitives from justice right here in Southwest Florida. This is your chance to help out the community and give the tip that gets these people off the street. These suspects need to be found – and you can help. If you have seen them, reach out to Crime Stoppers or your local law enforcement. Call 1-800-780-TIPS (8477). Here are three fugitives wanted by Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers. Christopher Hill Christopher Hill (DOB 4/26/73) – Wanted in Lee County for violation of probation for burglary and grand theft. This guy was trying to get a father of the year award, but instead, he ended up going to jail. Detectives say Hill stole an ATV from a North Fort Myers home, then brought it to Port Charlotte as a gift for his children the next morning. But amid the kids’ excitement, their mom had a suspicion that the ATV might have been stolen. A quick check confirmed her suspicions and the new gift ended up going back to the cops. To date, Hill has been booked 10 times in Lee County and one time in Charlotte County for burglary, grand theft, drugs, DUI, and shooting into a dwelling. He is 5’8”, 140 pounds and could be living in either Punta Gorda or North Fort Myers. Upon his arrest, he will be held without bond. Henry Whetsell Henry Whetsell (DOB 2/25/70) – Wanted in Lee County for failure to register as a sex offender. He was convicted of predatory criminal sexual assault in Lake County, Illinois, and after serving time in prison there, he moved to Southwest Florida. As a convicted sex offender, he is mandated by the court system to keep tabs with law enforcement and report any changes of address to them. At last check, it was believed that Whetsell vacated his Lehigh Acres home and may have been hotel hopping in/around North Fort Myers. But at the end of the day, he’s a convicted sex offender who is at large somewhere in our community. Locally, he’s been booked four times before, mostly for failing to register as a sex offender (clearly there’s a pattern of not abiding, by the way). He is 6’0”, 240 pounds with numerous tattoos on both of his arms. Darrell Williams Darrell Williams (DOB 8/6/67) – Wanted in Lee County for violation of probation on charges of petit theft (3rd conviction). He has a very lengthy history of theft, with 29 previous bookings on charges of theft, battery, drugs, contempt and grand theft. His current warrant, which was issued in late January, stems from an incident at the Edison Mall, where he had been trespassed from several times because of his thieving ways. On this particular occasion, he was spotted by store security stuffing $500 in stolen merchandise from Victoria’s Secret into his pockets. Because of his criminal past, that theft ended up with Williams landing in the Lee County Jail for the lion’s share of last year. In addition to his local jail time, he’s also been arrested in Marion County and has been sent to state prison twice for a term of about five years. He is 5’6”, 150 pounds and was last known to be living in downtown Fort Myers. He has a tattoo of the name “Kim” on his right arm, and upon his arrest, he will be held without bond. If you have a tip on the whereabouts of any of these wanted suspects contact Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers. All callers will remain anonymous and will be eligible for a cash reward of up to $3,000.
