Tommie Lee Thicklin, 45. (CREDIT: Hendry County Sheriff’s Office) A Hendry County man is in jail accused of shooting two people, one of them a 16-year-old girl, over $20. Tommie Lee Thicklin, 45, got into an argument with his two brothers about the money on Monday. The three separated, and a short while later, Thicklin came back with a gun, according to the Hendry County Sheriff’s Office. Thicklin accused the two of talking behind his back and fired a gun at them. One of the brothers sought shelter in a nearby apartment. The other brother ran to hide behind a car. Thicklin fired multiple shots at his brother, one of them hitting his mouth, deputies said. Another shot struck the rear window of a vehicle where a 16-year-old girl was sitting, striking her in the head, according to deputies. The two victims were treated at the hospital and released with non-life-threatening injuries, the sheriff’s office said. Thicklin was taken into custody and charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, child abuse, shooting a deadly missile into an occupied vehicle, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, using a firearm during the commission of a felony, possession of a concealed firearm and destroying evidence. He is being held on $750,000 bond at Hendry County Jail, deputies said.
