A North Carolina man was arrested early Monday morning after getting aggressive with multiple people in downtown Cape Coral.

Officers from the Cape Coral Police Department responded to the downtown bar district around 12:45 am due to an intoxicated patron named Daniel Elliott, 40, who refused to pay his bar tab at BackStreets Sports Bar. Elliott eventually paid his bar tab and left.

Only a bit later, Elliott was involved in a disturbance at Rack ‘em Spirits and Times, during which it was said he threatened another patron with a knife. That patron couldn’t be located. While officers were speaking with Elliott, a bouncer from Rusty’s Raw Bar and Grill identified him as the person who threatened him with a knife earlier, after being escorted out of Rusty’s Raw Bar and Grill.

After Elliott was detained, a large fixed-blade knife was found in his right pants pocket. Elliott was arrested on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and disorderly intoxication. He is currently at the Lee County Jail.
