A Port Charlotte man was arrested after he was found with nearly 6 grams of fentanyl, police say.

Jonathan King, 35, was a passenger in a vehicle that was pulled over Wednesday by North Port Police in the area of Spring Haven Drive and Glenallen Boulevard. He was found with 22 bags of fentanyl – or 5.65 grams, police said.

“It is believed that approximately 0.003 grams of fentanyl can be a lethal dose. 5.65 grams divided by 0.003 grams = A LOT OF POTENTIAL DEATHS!,” NPPD said in a release.

King is facing charges of trafficking in fentanyl and possession of drug paraphernalia. He remains in the Sarasota County Jail without bond.
