A longtime friend of two families was arrested for sexual crimes against victims in both families after investigations by the Cape Coral Police Department’s Major Crimes Unit.

The CCPD’s Major Crimes Unit investigated Paul Moore, 52, in December of 2019 for molesting two female victims, both under the age of 12.

Moore had been a longtime friend of the family. Moore was arrested on January 6th, 2020, and spent time in jail before posting bond and being released on April 2nd, 2020.

In December of 2020, the Cape Coral Police Department received another report of sexual battery against a child from another family who had been longtime friends with Paul Moore.

The family did not know the first family nor have they had contact with them, according to CCPD.

The crimes were alleged to have happened before Moore’s first arrest in January 2020. The Major Crimes Unit submitted a warrant request on January 19th, 2021 for Moore’s arrest on the new charges.

Moore was arrested by United States Marshals based on the active CCPD warrant on May 14th, 2021 in Buffalo, New York. On June 3rd, 2021 Moore was transferred into the Lee County Jail.
