On Fourth of July weekend, the shores of our beaches will be filled with people celebrating the nation’s birthday. Keep Lee County Beautiful volunteers will be out and about Monday cleaning up after the July 4 activities. They hope people will bring their own trash bags, but will still do their best to help protect and conserve the beauty of the beaches. Volunteers will go to work at Lynn Hall Memorial Park and on Fort Myers Beach. “We still have openings there for people to go there and help us get that location cleaned up, because that’s the location that is always the dirtiest is the Fort Myers Beach, because that’s where they do the actual fireworks,” said Mike Thomas with Keep Lee County Beautiful. Collier County is also having a county-wide beach cleanup Monday. To help out, you can pick bags up today.
