Credit: SWFL Crime Stoppers Crime Stoppers are searching for a person who they believe was involved in an attempted robbery early Sunday afternoon. At about 1 p.m., a man entered the CVS located at 7581 Winkler Road in Lee County. He immediately went to the cashier and demanded money from the register. The suspect told the employee that he had a weapon and the cashier believed it was a gun. However, no one ever saw the weapon. Once the cashier refused to hand over any money, the suspect ran out of the store. If you have any information about this attempted robbery or the suspect, you are being asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS (8477). Tips can also be made online or via the app.
