A woman on her golf cart was hit and killed Friday afternoon in North Fort Myers.

According to Florida Highway Patrol, the 59-year-old woman was leaving a 7-Eleven gas station located along Littleton Road in North Fort Myers. This was near the intersection with North Cleveland Avenue (US-41).

A 56-year-old man driving a pickup truck was traveling east, approaching a left turn lane on Littleton Road. The woman on the golf cart attempted to travel across Littleton Rd in front of the stopped traffic.

The front of the truck hit the left side of the woman’s golf cart, causing the golf cart to overturn.

The Florida Highway Patrol no longer releases the names of those involved in traffic crashes, citing Marsy’s Law.
