A man pointed a gun at a neighbor over dog poop at the Bella Terra Community in Lee county. The victim says he threatened to kill his entire family.

34-year-old Diego Carlli is accused of returning to a neighbor’s home with a gun after they argued about his dog pooping on the lawn.

The victim told WINK News his family is traumatized.

He says his child watched the whole thing unfold from the window of their home.

Neighbors took a video of the incident but didn’t feel comfortable sharing it.

In the video, Carlli can be heard shouting curse words, making threats and charging the rifle, potentially loading a round in the chamber.

The victim said he was outside his home when Carlli walked his dog in the front yard. After the dog pooped, the victim asked Carlli if he’d pick it up. He says that’s when Carlli became hostile.

Carlli walked home before coming back to his neighbor’s house with what looked like a rifle.

The victim and other neighbors say they saw him point the rifle at the victim before saying he was going to kill the victim and his family.

Another neighbor, who didn’t see the encounter, did see deputies carrying weapons out of Carlli’s home just hours later.

“They said everything’s under control. There’s no problem here and whatever. They were there for probably an hour, hour and a half. Another patrol car came up. They opened up the deck lid, put on blue gloves, went inside, brought out two weapons. Looked like rifles,” the neighbor said.

The victims now feel unsafe in their home.

Carlli faces an aggravated assault charge.

He was released on a $75,000 bond.
