One search team has been on a relentless mission to find Lauren Dumolo. The Cape Coral woman mysteriously vanished last year.

She was last seen at her apartment on Coronado Parkway. The day before she went missing, she was captured on surveillance footage picking up a job application at a gas station.

On Sunday, a team of volunteers is again stepping up search efforts, hoping to find any new clues in her case.

The search group met up at the Winn Dixie shopping plaza in Cape Coral at 9 a.m on Sunday to start the search. They will be starting at Rotary Park in Cape Coral and combing other nearby areas.

The Cape Coral Police Department found Dumolo’s purse at Four Freedoms Park. A place she visited often.

In October, Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers began mailing out postcards with Dumolo’s picture and offering a $3,000 reward for information.

Angela Dawn, one of the people helping search for Dumolo, is not giving up hope. “We’ve had multiple, multiple hours and days and sleepless nights along with the family. You know, going after lead after lead, trying to find something for the lord. And it’s, it’s been it’s starting to get very hard for everybody.”

She says they won’t stop searching until they find her.

Dumolo’s father, Paul said he is just looking for closure. “It’s probably the worst thing in the world of not knowing. And not, you know, if I’m sure somebody knows where my daughter is, or where her remains are, and, you know, not to be able to give my daughter the burial that she deserves,”

He even went on Dr. Phil to raise awareness of his daughter’s disappearance.

“I wasn’t really allowed to speak on the specifics of the case, which I really wanted to do. And there was a lot of things that I disagreed with that were being said”

He says he wants to know what happened to his daughter.

Those searching for Dumolo hope they can bring him closer to some answers.
