2 on motorcycle killed, 2 others injured in Charlotte County crash

A 19-year-old motorcyclist and his 18-year-old passenger were killed in a crash with a pickup truck. The truck’s passenger was seriously injured in a crash on El Jobean Road in Charlotte County Monday night.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a pickup truck driven by a 44-year-old man from Punta Gorda with a 21-year-old woman from Flint, Michigan, as a passenger was traveling east in the left turn lane of El Jobean Road around 6:15 p.m. A motorcycle driven by a Port Charlotte man with a Port Charlotte woman as a passenger was traveling west in the right lane of El Jobean Road. The pickup attempted to make a left turn onto Toledo Blade Boulevard, turning in front of the motorcycle, which collided with the pickup’s right side.

The pickup truck stopped on the grass of El Jobean Road. The motorcycle came to rest at the intersection of El Jobean Road and Toledo Blade Boulevard. The motorcycle passenger was transported to an area hospital where she died on Tuesday. The motorcycle driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation.
