A man was hospitalized with gunshot wounds after a shooting at a Super Bowl party in Fort Myers on Sunday night.

The Fort Myers Police Department says it responded to a Shot Spotter alert near Armstrong Court and Henderson Avenue at around 10 p.m. They found around 150 people leaving a large house party, which FMPD says appears to have been a Super Bowl party, and a man in a ditch suffering from gunshot wounds.

The man was taken to Gulf Coast Hospital for treatment.

Detectives are working to gather more information. They ask that anyone who was at the party or in the area who has information regarding a fight or shooting call FMPD at (239) 321-7700 or Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-8477 if you would like to remain anonymous.
