After the rain and thunderstorms brought by Thursday’s cold front, we’ll get to settle into a dry weekend of cooler conditions for Southwest Florida.

Humidity will drop throughout the day on Friday with dew points set to fall into the 40s by the afternoon, resulting in very comfortable conditions.

With cooler air continuing to move in, most coastal areas should only warm into the lower 70s, with inland zones set to hit highs in the low 80s.

Breezy weather will persist Friday, but winds will pick up even more on Saturday.

This will lead to some rougher conditions for boaters this weekend, with waves as high as 7 feet at times for offshore areas Saturday.

Furthermore, the low humidity coupled with the winds will heighten fire danger. Fire Weather Watches have been posted for Saturday for Hendry, Glades, and inland Collier County, which may be upgraded to Red Flag Warnings.

As winds die down Sunday, temperatures will be allowed to cool into the 50s by Sunday morning.

From there, we’ll have a fast warming trend for next week, with highs returning to the 90s by next Tuesday.
