Broward County shooting investigation shuts down Alligator Alley to Collier County

Deputies in Broward County responded to a reported shooting on Alligator Alley near mile marker 37 on Saturday.

Chief Kane, the battalion chief fire rescue public information officer says the victims were one male and one female, both believed to be in their 60s.

According to the report, Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies responded around 5 p.m. and found two people who were shot while driving their car. Both were then airlifted to area hospitals.

FHP says Southbound I-75 was closed at mile marker 37 in Broward County.

FHP says they were diverting southbound I-75 (Alligator Alley) traffic at Exit 80 (State Road 29) to assist with the road closure.

A spokesperson said that both the Broward County Sheriff’s Office Violent Crimes Unit and Crime Scene Unit are working on investigating the shooting.
