A North Fort Myers man was sentenced to 10 years in prison after pleading no contest to drug charges.

Worldy Georges, 42, was adjudicated guilty and sentenced for two drug cases after he decided to plea no contest just as jury selection was beginning.

For two counts of sale or delivery of a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a park, Georges received 10 years in prison followed by five years of probation on each count. For two counts of possession of a controlled substance, he received 5 years in prison and a six-month driver’s license suspension. For possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, Georges received 10 years in prison followed by five years of probation. For a separate count of possession of a controlled substance, he received five years in prison and a six-month driver’s license suspension.

Georges was also ordered to pay fines, court costs and the cost of prosecution. The charges will run concurrently.

In the first case, on July 27, 2021, Georges was caught driving a stolen car in Fort Myers. When he was pulled over by the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, he tried to hide a small baggie that later tested positive for methamphetamine. He also had a .22-caliber pistol in his pocket with two rounds of ammunition in a loaded magazine. There was also another
firearm in the car, a 9mm pistol.

In the second case from 2021, Georges sold crack cocaine and fentanyl at a motel in North Fort Myers during an undercover drug operation by LCSO’s narcotics unit.
