Naples Police Department reunites car with owner after it was stolen from her driveway.

Sherry Beaver has had her van for 22 years she uses it for much of her daily needs including her frequent beach days.

She keeps many of her personal essentials in it including her two walkers.

When it was stolen out of her apartment’s public parking one night it was hard to imagine her life without it.

“I use the vehicle as my legs to get everywhere go to the beach in the library and restaurants and all. And so when it was stolen, it was quite a shock. I did not get angry. I bless the people that stole it and I gave it all to god to just take care of,” Beaver said.

She was especially thankful when Detective Michael Holmberg with the Naples Police Department found the van nearby.

“I contacted her and she didn’t really have a ride to get there. So I said I’ll just come pick you up to get your car. The car was in good condition and her walker was in there,” Holmberg said.

Beaver said she is so grateful that she had her car back in just two days.

“She’s a little old lady that needed some help. So we just got done. No big deal,” Holmberg said.

WINK News spoke with her today and she was back at the beach with her van.

“It’s a very old car. It’s funny that anyone wanted to take it is 22 years old, but I do keep a chair for the park. I go to the to the beach everyday, but I use benches but I also have two walkers in there. And I have a suitcase and I have a sweatshirt and I have everything I would need. If it rains, I have a towel. I have, you know, everything important to me and I don’t have to take it in and out,” Beaver said.

Holmberg said they were there for her and made sure she was taken care of and whatever we can do to help her out. We’ll do it.

“Not a cent was taken. I had a little purse with money in it. And nothing was taken. So you know, god is good prayers work,” Beaver said.

Beaver is now back to her regular routine of going to the beach, the library, and meeting friends for lunch.
