Hunter James Kufta, 28. Credit: Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office. A man was arrested on Monday evening after Collier County detectives say he sent a lewd Snapchat picture to an underage girl. Hunter James Kufta, 28, faces a charge of transmission of material harmful to a minor. Detectives say Kufta befriended the teenage victim on Snapchat. In January, while the victim and her family were staying at a Naples area hotel, she sent out a Snap of her location to everyone in her Snapchat group, which included Kufta. Kufta sent the victim a picture of his genitals and a message saying he was coming to the hotel to rape her. Detectives say Kufta knew the victim was a minor when he sent the photo. The CCSO investigation included a search warrant to Snapchat which found messages from Kufta to the victim. On Monday, Collier County Judge Michael Provost signed a warrant for Kufta’s arrest. That evening, he was found in his dorm room at the University of North Florida in Jacksonville, where he is a student. He was taken into custody by university police and booked into the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office’s correctional facility, awaiting extradition back to Collier County.
