The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating an unknown suspect who stole a car to escape the last of three different Monday morning hit-and-run crashes he caused in Lee County—one on McGregor Boulevard and another two near Daniels Parkway and I-75.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a white 2017 Chevrolet pickup truck driven by an unknown man drove away after crashing into another vehicle on McGregor Boulevard just before 6 a.m. After the crash, FHP determined the same Chevrolet truck began to follow and take aggressive actions against a 2013 Chevrolet Equinox driven by a 23-year-old woman in the area of Gladiolus Drive.

As the pickup truck continued to follow the SUV for several miles, the unknown driver used his truck to intentionally collide with the woman’s Equinox in the area of eastbound Daniels Parkway and the entrance ramp to southbound I-75. The woman was not injured.

The Chevrolet pickup truck traveled over the median divider to get away from the scene and collided with a 2018 Toyota Corolla. No one was injured in that crash.

When a witness in a 2010 Toyota Prius stopped to assist with the crash, the man in the pickup truck got out, stole the Toyota Prius and fled south on I-75.

The good Samaritan spoke to WINK News, but said he couldn’t go on camera because of his job.

He said this whole crash happened because the driver who fled asked a woman to flash her chest.

The 23-year-old woman said no and the driver got aggressive and followed her for miles, and intentionally hit her by the southbound entrance of 75 off of Daniels Parkway.

The good Samaritan said he was told his car was found in Lehigh Acres. Another good piece of news? No one was injured in the crash.

Anyone with information is asked to call *FHP (*347) or contact Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-8477.
