A person is dead after a shooting at the Portofino Cove Apartments in Fort Myers Sunday morning.
The scene is on Ambrosia Drive off Colonial Boulevard between Winkler Avenue and Veronica Shoemaker.
When WINK News got to the scene there were over 10 police investigating.
WINK News spoke with lieutenant Gloria Camacho with the Fort Myers Police Department about the scene.
“We did receive a call in reference to gunshots in this apartment complex. We responded here. There is one person who is deceased on scene. It’s an ongoing investigation. There is no immediate threat to the public. There is no concern for anyone in the apartment complex or anyone in the immediate area,” Camacho said.
People around or living in the apartment complex are being asked to avoid the crime scene.
