A person was killed in a Monday morning crash on Six Mile Cypress Parkway in south Fort Myers.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the crash occurred just south of Daniels Parkway.

Troopers say a 23-year-old man was trying to cross the southbound lanes of Six Mile Sypress on a mini scooter, “disobeying a pedestrian control signal.”

A sedan and a pickup truck were approaching the intersection that had a green light. The Sedan hit the man on the scooter, and shortly after, the man was hit again by the pickup truck.

Troopers say the man was taken to the hospital with critical injuries, where he later died. They say he was not wearing a helmet.
