On Thursday, a woman turned herself in to Fort Myers police for a 2022 hit-and-run that hospitalized two pedestrians.

According to the Fort Myers Police Department, 74-year-old Candie Rodrigues turned herself in for a hit-and-run that happened on Feb. 25, 2022, at the intersection of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue and Broadway Avenue. Officers responded to the scene at around 10:30 p.m.

A search began for a dark-colored SUV that had been caught on camera afterward.

On March 15, 2023, a judge signed an arrest warrant for Rodrigues for two counts of leaving the scene of a crash involving serious bodily injuries. Rodrigues then contacted a traffic homicide investigator on Thursday to turn herself in.
