Cape Coral man claims $41M Florida Lottery jackpot

On Wednesday, a Cape Coral man claimed a $41 million Florida Lottery jackpot.

According to the Florida Lottery, 57-year-old Darren Martini claimed the jackpot from a drawing held on Dec. 24 at Lottery Headquarters in Tallahassee. He chose to receive his winnings as a one-time, lump-sum payment of $24,559,932.33.

Martini purchased his jackpot-winning Florida Lotto Quick Pick ticket from the Publix store located at 3015 Pine Island Road Southwest. The retailer will receive a bonus commission of $100,000 for selling the winning ticket.

The next drawing will be held Thursday night at 11:15 p.m. with an estimated $26.25 million jackpot.
