Naples Sand and Sandbags are available at North Collier Regional Park Softball Complex, located at 15000 Livingston Road in Naples. This operation will end Tuesday at 5 p.m. Supplies are limited and ten bags are limited to each person. People are being asked to bring their own shovels to fill bags. Call the Road, Bridge & Stormwater Maintenance Division at 239-252-8924 for more information. Punta Gorda The City of Punta Gorda has self-fill bags and sand available at Hounds at 900 West Henry Street for City of Punta Gorda residents. Limit of 8 bags per vehicle and please bring your own shovel. Please note that sanitation will not pick up bags after the storm and are not to be dumped in the canals. NOTE: This was last updated on Monday, Aug. 28, at 9:33 a.m. Pine Island Matlacha and Pine Island Fire Control District will have sand for residents. The sandbag location is at 5700 Pine Island Road on Bokeelia at Fire Station 1. Bags are limited to 25 for people who live within the area. Sand can be found at the Pine Island Little League field parking lot located at 5675 Sesame Drive, Bokeelia. Shovels are available for people who do not have a shovel. People with shovels are encouraged to bring them; the sand is self-serve and bags will not be provided. As of Tuesday, 6 p.m., there was still sand available. Sanibel The Sanibel Fire Rescue District does not have sandbags. However, Sandbags are available at the recycling center on Dunlop Road, across from the Sanibel Library. Bonita Springs According to Bonita Springs Fire Control, sand and sandbags can be found at 27701 Bonita Grande Dr. in Bonita Springs. They are limiting 25 sandbags per Bonita Springs address. When you go to pick up sandbags, bring your ID with you to verify you have a Bonita Springs address. It’s suggested people should bring a shovel to make the process more efficient. However, shovels will be provided on-site. The sand is self-serve, so be prepared to bring your own bags to fill. Call 239-949-6200 for more information.
