Power outage in Lee County affects nearly 1,000 customers

977 outages recorded (CREDIT: Florida Power and Light)

Nearly 1,000 power outages reported in Lee County have been restored.

According to Florida Power and Light (FPL), 977 outages were reported near Pointset Park Thursday evening. Earlier in the evening, 3,756 outages were reported in the area.

The outage was caused by lightning that struck FPL equipment.
