The man accused of shooting two men in a Publix parking lot is being held on a $200,000 bond.

Leonard Merchant made his first appearance in court Tuesday.

He’s charged with two counts of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.

According to reports, one of his victims believed he was “tweaking” or under the influence of drugs.

Words were exchanged, and then shots were fired.

WINK News rushed to the scene yesterday after learning a man was taken to the hospital after being shot in the supermarket’s parking lot on Homestead Road in Lehigh Acres.
