The Lee County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a man for allegedly shooting his pitbull inside his home in Lehigh Acres.

Deputies announced the arrest of Farhad Deihim at a news conference Tuesday afternoon.

Deputies responded to a domestic abuse call late Monday night.

According to Sheriff Carmine Marceno, Deihim was discovered to have had an affair by his fiancée.

Deihim then allegedly threatened to shoot his fiancée, two juveniles, and his pitbull, who were all living inside the home.

He then was recorded shooting the animal through his home security camera.

“Upon arrival, deputies made contact with 41-year-old Farhad Deihim and immediately detained him on scene. While in communication with the parties involved, it was learned that a gunshot was fired and Deihim had shot the family’s dog Louie, a young pit bull mix, in the face,” said Sheriff Marceno.

Upon Deihim’s arrest by deputies, it was discovered that the animal had sustained bullet wounds in the face.

The dog was then transported to Lee County Domestic Animal Services, where, according to Marceno, it is expected to make a full recovery.

Deihim faces aggravated animal cruelty charges.

If convicted, Deihim will be put on Lee County’s Animal Abuse Registry, where he will be banned from owning a dog in Lee County for the next five years
