Back to school also means parents need to be prepared to check their children’s health. (CREDIT: WINK News) Schools are almost out for summer in Collier County, as students eagerly await the end of the 2023-24 academic calendar. Students will have a shorter day than usual, so they can have an early start for the summer break. In a press release Collier County Public Schools said, “The early dismissal time for elementary, middle, and high school students is three hours earlier than the dismissal time on normal days.” While Thursday may be the last day for Collier students, Lee County students will have to wait until Friday for their summer recess. Charlotte and Hendry County students went on their summer break last Friday. DeSoto County children were released even earlier, on May 23.
