FDOT holds second meeting on diverging diamond

On Thursday, the public had another opportunity to hear about the diverging diamond project coming to Daniels Parkway and Interstate 75.

The Florida Department of Transportation held their second public meeting this week about the road changes.

When finished, it will look similar to the diverging diamond at I-75 and University Parkway in Sarasota.

The goal is to keep traffic moving and reduce pinch points.

Some are all for this diverging diamond, while others worry it’ll turn Daniels into an even bigger headache.

FDOT is convinced this is the fix for traffic issues on Daniel Parkway at I-75, and even though the project’s a done deal, FDOT still wants to hear from people.

That’s why they host events like the one on Thursday.

Construction on the new interchange is set to begin in the summer of 2025.
