The Fourth of July and fireworks are nearly synonymous, but many are forced to forego this annual tradition due to rising costs.

You may have noticed tents beginning to appear throughout Southwest Florida filled with sparklers, screamers and boxes of fireworks primed to explode with enjoyment.

Yet fireworks are not the only thing exploding this upcoming holiday, as inflation has caused wallets to blow up due to rising costs.

“It’s become more expensive,” said Jerry. “A lot more than five years ago.”

Jerry and his son Aiden love fireworks and America. However, their big show will cost them a bit more than it used to.

Due to this financial constraint, the pair began to search for deals, opting for the lowest price to get the biggest boom.

July 4 is a day away, and it is important to acknowledge that fireworks are explosives and must be handled with the utmost care.

The National Safety Council and U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission provide detailed guides to ensure safety this Independence Day.
