Cape Coral pursuit ends with head-on collision and injuries

A pursuit has ended with a head-on vehicle collision involving two vehicles.

This happened on Hibiscus Dr. and Pondella Road in Cape Coral on Tuesday evening.

Cape Coral Police Department has confirmed that this was a pursuit by the Florida Highway Patrol that ended in a vehicle collision with injuries.

According to the FHP, they initiated a pursuit of a Ford that failed to stop for reckless driving on State Road 78 and Judd Creek Boulevard.

They then lost sight of the Ford as it traveled through a Walmart parking lot. The Ford left the parking lot and traveled south on Hibiscus Drive where it ran a stop sign at the intersection of Pondella Road.

The Ford was then struck by a Kia heading westbound.

The driver of the Ford was transported to Gulf Coast Hospital with serious injuries.

The passenger in the Ford, as well as the driver of the Kia, were transported to Cape Coral Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
