DNC Day 2: Protestors in Chicago

You never saw this at home, but halfway through President Joe Biden’s Monday night speech, protesters planted themselves in seats in Florida’s delegation and tried to make a scene.

Cindy Banyai, an at large delegate from Lee County, told us the delegates acted just as quickly as the Secret Service.

They raised their “I love Joe Biden” signs to block the banner. They didn’t want anyone or anything ruining the president’s convention moment.

Republican congressman Byron Donalds, who made the trip to Chicago to speak on behalf of the Trump campaign, told us the protests signal the disconnect, disarray and danger he believes would come if the nation elects Kamala Harris president.

These Florida delegates will go home with quite a story to tell, and every one of them told us that they can’t wait to hear Barack Obama tonight.
