Credit: WINK News A home in Cape Coral experienced a shocking strike as lightning caused interior damage to the property’s bathroom. The incident was reported at around 11:40 a.m. on Wednesday on SW 4th Pl, where the homeowner told WINK News that the entry point may have originated from the roof. Upon initial review, no damage was seen from the suggested area or surrounding perimeter. The homeowner then continued to mention lightning striking an old phone line near a window, where the electrical current found a wire and blew out the drywall. The only reported damage stems from the bathroom area. Cape Coral Fire and the police department responded to the scene, where they disclosed that no further damage could be found on the property. The homeowner further stated that the sound was similar to an explosion; however, she immediately investigated, citing that the power was still operational inside the building.
