As Hurricane Milton approaches, get familiar with your evacuation zone.

Hurricane evacuation zones are no longer referenced by storm category but are now named by hurricane surge evacuation zones: A, B, C, D and E.

Lee County

The county is evacuated in phases by zones for storm surge and wind. This means that the county may order the evacuation of Zone A before you see any effects of the storm.

Charlotte County

​According to Charlotte County, evacuation zones are not based solely on the elevation of your residence. The zones are determined using data provided by the National Hurricane Center, including elevation and evacuation routes. Storm surge does not correlate with the category of the storm.
