Harry Chapin Food Bank is holding emergency food distributions on Friday and Saturday following Hurricane Milton.

When Milton made landfall Wednesday, communities across Southwest Florida were affected by wind, storm surge, tornadoes and flooding.

Now Lee, Collier, Charlotte, Hendry and Glades counties are all seeing the devastation.

Luckily, the Harry Chapin Food Bank sustained no damage to its Fort Myers warehouse, and it is set to return to normal operations on Friday, Oct. 11.

“We’re hopeful that by deploying all available resources, we can ease some of our neighbors worries as we recover from this storm together,” said Richard LeBer, the president and CEO of Harry Chapin Food Bank, in a press release.

The Harry Chapin emergency food distribution centers will be open from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Friday at the following locations:

  • Salvation Army Naples, 472 Airport-Pulling Road S. in Naples
  • Ocean Church, 2016 Kismet Pkwy E. in Cape Coral

Another set will be open from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday at the following locations:

  • Iglesia de Dios Pentecostal Church, 151 NE Pine Island Road in Cape Coral
  • Word of Life Church, 6111 South Pointe Blvd. in Fort Myers
