An anonymous letter allegedly led to a Naples city employee being fired and becoming the subject of a criminal investigation.

The letter reportedly tipped off the City of Naples, saying that an employee was using a city credit card to buy tools and sell them for profit.

The city investigated the allegation and fired Jovan Stojisavljevic, a Stormwater Supervisor, on Monday.

The letter also claimed he stole gas from the city to fill up his personal car.

“The matter has now been referred to the Naples Police Department to conduct a criminal investigation,” said a spokesperson for the City of Naples.

Naples police have only confirmed there is a criminal investigation into the allegations.

“Once the investigation is completed, more information will be made available,” said Police Lt. Bryan McGinn, a public information officer for Naples PD.
