A woman accused of killing her 4-month-old baby has pleaded not guilty to charges of aggravated manslaughter of a child and aggravated child abuse.

She entered her plea during an arraignment Monday morning.

According to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, 32-year-old Johnisha Cole waived her appearance for her arraignment in favor of submitting a written not-guilty plea.

LCSO arrested Cole in December after an investigation determined the death of her baby last September was a homicide.
