Naples Police to get state-of-the-art cameras, Tasers

To bring the Naples Police Department’s failing cameras, outdated Tasers and software systems up to date, City Council unanimously agreed to spend $1.74 million over five years for a state-of-the-art, coordinated system. 

City Council agrees Naples Pier concession stand isn’t needed

The $26.6 million Naples Pier design will return to the drawing board after the City Council agreed a concession stand, deck and seating at its inland entry would cause people to congregate, stop the flow onto the pier and lead to noise, smells and other problems for beach neighbors. 

Lee County names Steve Hennigan port authority director

Steven Hennigan’s interim label was removed from his role as executive director of the Lee County Port Authority on July 30. He will continue leading Southwest Florida International Airport and Page Field, as well as the port authority’s real estate holdings.
