Earnest Graham steps down as North Fort Myers football coach

North Fort Myers football coach Earnest Graham submitted a letter of resignation to the Lee County School District. The news was announced with a release by District spokesperson Amity Chandler. “Coach Graham has submitted a letter of resignation for next season. However, he still has many commitments to his North High team and he will continue to be a presence on the campus for the next several weeks.”Graham declined comment to WINK Sports on why he is leaving the team after one season. Graham led the Red Knights to a 5-5 record.

The record setting running back at Mariner High School played college football for the University of Florida and professionally for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Graham is a prominent member of the community and runs an insurance company in Fort Myers.

The only varsity football head coaching vacancy in Lee County right now is at Lehigh Senior High School. Graham responded to a text message from WINK Sports, “No comment as of now” in regard to becoming the next coach at Lehigh Senior. Lehigh Senior also declined comment when asked if Graham will become its next coach. Lehigh Senior finished 2-8 this past season.

Graham is 34 years old.
