LAKELAND, Fla. (AP) – A Lakeland man is accused in the death of his 5-month-old son who died on New Year’s Eve, several days after suffering head trauma.

Police say 23-year-old Robert Graham was arrested Thursday. He’s charged with manslaughter and aggravated child abuse.

According to police, Graham was babysitting other children and little Princeton Graham on Dec. 29. He told police he tried to feed the baby and the child began choking. He says he turned him over and hit him on the back then went to a nearby apartment and the neighbor called 911.

The child died in a Tampa hospital.

An autopsy found that the boy died from being shaken. Graham told police he was overly rough with the baby on Dec. 28.

It’s not known whether he’s hired an attorney.
