Scope for Hope 5K Run taking place at Century Link Sports Complex

FORT MYERS, Fla. – To help raise awareness for colorectal cancer, the nonprofit 21st Century C.A.R.E. foundation and The Colorectal Institute are hosting the 5th Annual Scope for Hope 5K Run, 2-Mile Walk and Kid’s Fun Run. The event will take place on Saturday, March 14 at Century Link Sports Complex at Hammond Stadium on Six Mile Cypress Parkway, Fort Myers.

All funds raised at Scope for Hope will help provide screenings, treatment, follow-up care, financial assistance and educational programs to those affected in Southwest Florida. The event will feature awards for certain age categories, refreshments and chance drawings. The first 300 registered participants will receive a gift bag with race t-shirt and gifts.

The pre-registration fee is $35 today. Youth (17 and under) pre-registration fee for the 5K Run and 2-Mile Walk is  $20. Race day registration fee is $40 for all ages. There are no fees for children ages 5 and under.

Registration begins at 7 a.m., followed by the timed 5K run at 8 a.m. The 2-mile untimed walk begins at 8:10 a.m. and the kid’s fun run starts at 9:15 a.m.
