PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla.- The Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting incident that occurred Tuesday afternoon in the area of Meehan Avenue and Aaron Street. Shortly before 3 p.m. Tuesday, the sheriff’s office received a report of man having been knocked off his bicycle by a silver colored car. The vehicle backed up and several gunshots were fired. The bicyclist suffered minor injuries from the crash. There were no injuries as a result of the shots being fired. Authorities were on the scene investigating for several hours Tuesday. Based on the investigation, authorities say it appears as if the contact between the silver car and the bicycle was intentional, not accidental.
