Local teen combats bullying through website

CAPE CORAL, Fla.- A local teen who says he was bullied so badly he thought about killing himself is now helping other students find hope.

“I was bullied because I was a person that had a vision,” said 18-year-old Marcus Moore.

If you look at Moore, you see a bright, well-spoken teenager.

“I was always the person that was a go-getter,” he said.

But, you can’t see the deep emotional scars of being severely bullied. Moore says it started in just sixth grade.

“I would have kids that throw spitballs at me, I would have one kid that would come stab me with a pencil,” he said.

Moore says he was even beat up on a regular basis, was labeled and tormented.

“I was feeling suicidal. I was really tired of the fact that I was being attacked. And when I say attacked, I literally was being attacked,” said Moore.

It was a major chore for Moore to wake up every day and go to school.

“For me, to be able to walk in school and keep my grades up at that time was absolute, emotional hell,” said Moore.

But having a vision, Moore pulled through and he didn’t want to just help himself, but everyone being bullied.

He launched a simple website and Facebook page called “Divisions of Hope are Limitless.”

It’s a site for those being bullied to vent, research and find someone to talk to.

“It was like somebody breaking your heart,” said Brenna DePiro.

DePiro says she was also severely bullied because of her weight.

“They would call me names. Like, ‘oh you are fat. You are never going to be with anybody,'” said DePiro.

But once Depiro met Moore and found his website, she says her life changed.

“Emotionally it changed how I looked at life. Because I felt better about myself,” she said.

“I want to take this website and transform it and actually spread it though the entire world. It’s a big goal, but I’ll get there,” said Moore.
