FORT MYERS, Fla.- The Fort Myers Police Department has taken a suspect into custody following a bank robbery at the C1 Bank located on the 1500 block of Red Cedar Drive.

Police say around 10: 3o a.m., a man entered the bank and demanded money from a teller, implying he had a gun.

The Lee County Sheriff’s helicopter circled overhead as officers followed tips and searched nearby plazas on U.S. 41, a few blocks from the bank.

This is the second time the C1 Bank has been robbed in recent months. A man dressed as a woman, robbed the bank back in May and was later arrested after months on the run.

Authorities say no one was injured in the robbery. The bank remains closed Friday afternoon.
