Bicyclist seriously injured in Bonita Beach Rd. crash

FORT MYERS, Fla. – A bicyclist is in the hospital in serious condition after a car hit him.

Lee County Sheriff’s deputies say the biker was hit on Bonita Beach Road, near Imperial Parkway around 4:10 p.m. Saturday.

Investigators say Juan-Pascual Ramirez was riding his bike on the sidewalk near a Lowe’s parking lot when he went into the roadway. One car traveling eastbound on Bonita Beach Road swerved and missed Ramirez, but a second car hit him.

Ramirez was taken to Lee Memorial Hospital and admitted to the Intensive Care Unit. Detectives said alcohol was a factor in the collision.

Lee County Sheriff’s deputies are continuing the investigation.
