WASHINGTON (AP) – President Barack Obama will welcome Indonesian President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo to the White House on October 26.

It will be Widodo’s first visit to the United States since being sworn in as president a year ago.

The White House says the leaders’ topics for discussion will include cooperation on defense, trade, climate and energy, as well as new growth areas such as maritime cooperation.

Obama, who lived in Indonesia as a child, met with Widodo in Beijing shortly after the Indonesian leader took office.

The White House is also announcing that Obama will visit the Philippines and Malaysia in November. National security adviser Susan Rice says he’ll attend the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation meeting and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations summit.
