East Naples neighborhood believes tornado ripped homes apart

Published: Updated:

EAST NAPLES, Fla.- A powerful storm ripped through a community taking off roofs, hurricane shutters and carports, leaving residents to believe it may have been a tornado.

Neighbors placed a tarp over one home that lost its roof and carport. Others helped bring back pieces of homes that were blown across the water.

The property manager could not estimate the cost of the damage; he is calling in a restoration company for repairs.

Some neighbors gathered together to celebrate the end of the storm by throwing a “tornado party.” WINK News meteorologists say they cannot find evidence a tornado hit.
