FORT MYERS, Fla. – A father and son have been arrested in connection with a murder in April. Kevin Jerome Parker Sr. and his son Kevin Jerome Parker Jr. were arrested for the murder of Henry Jenkins Jr. Fort Myers police responded to a call at 3079 Cleveland Avenue on Apr. 12. Neighbors in the Hilton House apartment complex told WINK News they heard gunshots around 1:30 a.m. Jenkins Jr. died at the complex. One woman recalled hearing gunshots through the walls the night Jenkins was killed. “Jimmy said quiet, that sounded like a gunshot. At first, I thought he was being paranoid, but it was.” The woman said she’s been living at Hilton House apartments since the murder, but wished to remain anonymous. Fort Myers police said the last seven months have been spent interviewing witnesses and searching for more evidence, in hopes of linking suspects to the murder. Evidence from the ongoing investigation is still visible throughout the building.  There are blue ink marks on stair railings, where detectives searched for fingerprints to try and identify the suspects. Neighbors told WINK News property managers recently installed security cameras, but one’s already been stolen. Now, Jenkins’ former neighbor feels she, his friends and family can finally move on. “I didn’t think that they would find the killers. I didn’t think anybody would talk, cause people don’t like to talk,” she said. “Especially in the neighborhood where I live. Nobody wants to get murdered, so nobody says anything.” Parker Sr. faces charges for second degree murder and robbery with a firearm. Parker Jr. faces charges for robbery with a firearm in connection with murder. Both are being held without bond.
